RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NUTRITIONAL STATUS WITH THE INCIDENCE OF DIARRHEA IN TODDLERS AGES 1-5 YEARS IN A MITRA PARAMEDIKA HOSPITAL JANUARY 2010-DECEMBER 2010


ABTRACT
Background: Diarrhea is one of the most frequent diseases of infants and
children throughout the world and is one of the main causes of morbidity and
mortality in children. Etiology of diarrhea is often in the multifaktorial i.e.
environmental factors, factors for toddlers, moms, and sosiodemografis. Has long
been known to interact simultaneously between malnutrition and infection. The
infection can worsen the State of nutrition through the disruption of food intake
and meningginya lose essential nutritional substances of the body.
Objective : To Purpose the relationship between nutritional status with the
occurrence of diarrhea in toddlers ages 1-5 years in Mitra Paramedika Hospital
January-December 2010 period.
Method : Research carried out using design research cross cross-sectional. Using
secondary data that comes from the medical record from January-December 2010.
Then done counting Anthropometry child proceed with grouping a nutritional
status between good nutritional status and less. Data obtained in test analysis
using Chi-Square with an alternative test of Fisher Exact Test to see how big the
relationship between nutritional status with the occurrence of diarrheal disease.
Result : There was no correlation between nutrition status of events in toddlers by
diarrhea 1-5 years old partner in a public Mitra Paramedika hospital the period of
January - December 2010 . This show the value of p > 0,05 with significant value
0,294 and 0,163 which means not significant or not matter .
Conclusion : Percentage of good nutrition that suffer from diarrhea more nutrients
compared to less suffering from diarrhea. There is no influence between
nutritional status with the incidence of diarrhea in young toddlers ages 1-5 years
